Salina D’Onofrio is a board-certified, registered art therapist and a licensed professional counselor with a master’s degree in Art Therapy from Drexel University. She is an experienced therapist, having worked in a range of inpatient and outpatient settings with children, adolescents, and adults. Most recently, Salina worked as an art psychotherapist at the Child and Family Art Therapy Center, providing individual art therapy to children and adolescents on an outpatient basis.
Salina engages clients using a person-centered approach, and aims to cultivate a safe and accepting therapeutic space where her clients can thrive. Salina’s belief in the power of spontaneous play and creative exploration is evident in her work with young children. While she specializes in working with children, she also works with adult clients, understanding the important role that creative expression plays in the healing process across all ages.
Salina is skilled in providing therapy to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, substance abuse, attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and trauma. Specializing in treating childhood trauma, she has extensive experience providing therapy for children who have been victims of abuse. Salina is trained and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and has additional training in Theraplay, an attachment-focused play therapy.
Salina is also passionate about clinical supervision and education and serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Art Therapy Department at Holy Family University. In her free time, Salina enjoys yoga, cooking, biking, crafting, and spending time with her two cats and dog.
