She received her master’s degree from Drexel University’s Graduate Program in Creative Arts Therapy in 2012. In addition to her masters level training, she has received extensive post-graduate training in both Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Beck Cognitive Therapy.
While Brianna is a child and adolescent specialist, she has worked with individuals of all ages in a variety of settings. She has extensive experience providing psychotherapy to individuals experiencing major life transitions, depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, autism and oppositional defiant disorder. Prior to entering private practice, she worked with at-risk youth and underserved populations in Philadelphia, providing intensive in-home family therapy and crisis intervention, as well as individual and group therapy in a partial hospitalization program. Brianna worked as an art therapist at Camp Pegasus, a social skills summer camp. Her most recent experience was working in private practice at the Child and Family Art Therapy Center, where she was also the Director of the Betterworld Internship program.
Brianna is a strengths-based, person-centered therapist who aims to create a safe and supportive space where her clients can feel comfortable being their true selves. She believes that in order to know ourselves, we need to express ourselves, and that there is an inherent healing power in art making and the creative process. Brianna appreciates and values the individuality of each person she works with and meets each client where they are, understanding that everyone must work at their own pace to achieve healing. Through a combination of art therapy, play, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive therapy (CT) and sandtray interventions, coupled with her empathic, fun and positive demeanor, Brianna encourages her fellow humans’ growth, healing, self-expression, and self-awareness. She is also passionate about helping budding art therapists and students achieve licensure through supervision and education. In her free time, Brianna continues her own art making practice, with a preference for sculpting, painting and creating practical and wearable art. She also enjoys flow arts, traveling, exploring nature, camping, dancing, and enjoying life with family, friends, and her cat Binx.
